Another day at the office

Today was the second attempt at having Ellison at the office while my mom is abroad. Once again, it was a challenge to say the least.

We started off with our normal playtime routine. She was all smiles... as long as I was looking at her.

So we moved to the floor for some crawling practice. As you will notice in the picture, she found her way to a file box and also found herself stuck.

Later in the day, I found myself lying on the floor and writing checks while playing peek-a-boo.

Around 3:30 pm and after a walk around the building and a bribe of breast milk, it appeared naptime had finally arrived. Until 3:34 pm, when there was another attempt to escape ...

Finally at 4:30 p.m., Graham called to let me know he was on his way. So it was time to go into the car seat. Guess what? Ellison fell right to sleep and took a long nap for her Daddy. Figures :) And I headed to class.

Tailgate time

Today we made our way to Gainesville to tailgate at Aunt Ashley's house. In typical Ellison style we arrived in Gainesville wearing Pink and then changed into her Gator Girl gear. Ellison and I stayed at the house while everyone headed to the game.

Ok, so the above is not her Gameday apparel. For whatever reason (I believe it may be because we were losing), I stopped taking pictures after she was dressed for the game.

Worker Bee

As many of you know, I went back to the office when Ellison was 5 weeks old. It worked out ok because I brought her along. However, around 3 months, she started to move. Well with my mom abroad, I had to bring her to the office today. "Challenging" is the word to describe it. This is an example of what happened during my attempt to work:

1. Placed blanket on floor with toys (which I have done repeatedly in the past) went to scan document and returned to find Ellison under my desk.

2. Placed Ellison in playpen (bed is still high bc if I place her at bottom of playpen she will wake up), turned to my computer and heard a noise. That noise was Ellison attempting an escape. She almost made it!

3. Placed Ellison in my lap to attempt to finally complete email (been working on all day). In process of sending email, Ellison picked up large file and threw to ground. Lovely.

4. Again while in lap, Ellison tapped on keyboard... changing my computer settings.

5. Ummm... stapler... not a toy for Ellison.

In the past, I have accomplished lots of office work during nap time. However, my child loves to be involved and can not stand to miss out. So there were NO NAPS TODAY.

I miss my mom. Come home soon.

Ellison's 4 month check up

Ellison had her 4 month check up on September 12th. Here are her stats:

Weight: 15lbs 9 ounces / 90th percentile

Height: 26.5 inches / over 97th percentile

I believe she got the height and skinny gene from the Clark side.

A few fun videos

Enjoy!

In this video, Ellie is attempting to turn over at 3 months. As you will see at the end of the video, she found Bella... luckily Bella was a good sport.

Ellie had a sore throat and developed a raspy voice. She soon discovered that growling made her throat feel better. As you will see in the video taped by Aunt Kim, we could not stop the growling.

Ellison's First Trip to Sea World

Weclome to our first post. I have repeatedly stated that I will not be doing a blog. Well, I guess I told a little white lie. I have now decided that a blog is a great idea to keep everyone updated on Ellison. So here goes...
Most people think we are crazy for taking a four month old to Sea World. However, in our defense, it is the perfect place to stroll around for a few hours and let your child explore. I know she is not able to pet the dolphins, feed the sea lions, or participate in the Shamu show. Yes, I am aware.
Graham and I had a great time walking through the park and watching Ellie's eyes wander. We also enjoyed the long afternoon nap that followed.
