Worst Nightmare: Any Thing for my Baby!

Amazing what a parent will do for their child.  Just in case you are not already aware, I suffer from a one of the worst possible fears you can have while living in Florida. The fears of lizards.

When Dylan asked for a reptile party.  I, of course, agreed.  When he asked for a giant lizard to come, I agreed.  When he asked me to hold it... well, I drew the line there.  No. Way.

We had a blast celebrating Dylan turning 6 with 30 of his closet friends.  It was a bit crazy, but all in a good way!

We really did have so much fun!  And I survived the lizards!

Dyl Pickle is 6!

Dylan is 6 today!  As I laid next to him in his bed last night and kissed him good night for the last time as a 5 year old, I tried to remember my sweet baby Dylan! Besides the first few months of infancy, Dylan has been an easy going, chill kid.  A few things about Dylan:

  • He rarely gets into trouble.
  • He always makes a mess
  • He is really good at sports
  • He prefers "fast" clothes at all times.
  • He is an ANIMAL LOVER and can share a kazillion facts if you ask.
  • He is learning to read and loves learning new words.
  • He is an artist like his sister.  He draws every night before he goes to bed.
  • When asked recently if he would like a baby brother, he said he would rather have his turtles.  (I did not ask this question, but did find the answer interesting)
  • His favorite foods are Jersey Mike's turkey sub, any type of yogurt, and steak.

Dylan has the kindest heart. He loves his sister, Ellison, so very much. When she is sad, he is sad.  He is a good friend to others and is the life of the party.  Dylan Beaman Clark, we are blessed to have you as our son.  We love you!

Melbourne - KSC Fun

Meeting Point:  Melbourne
Goal: To see Family and Friends
Final Destination: Kennedy Space Center

MISSION = SUCCESSFUL

I mean do you see who is in this picture?  Matthew!!! We actually saw the Chern - Mosely crew.  Chances were slightly high since I knew they were in town and we went to Chris Chern's amazing sushi restaurant.  So happy to catch up with them!

We also snuck in a visit with my Easton.  He is the sweetest!

Big announcements were made this weekend, and I am not talking about a shuttle launch.  This picture features all three Clark grandkids... wink, wink.

Mission Complete and only one astronaut down.

Third Grade Rock Star

My girl is back!  I feel like Ellison has come into her own as a third grader.  She is awesome being herself, which is a huge relief for this mama.  She dresses how she wants to dress (even wore a dress one day), she laughs out loud, she uses her brain, and she is good person.

For Dommerich's fundraiser Ellison raised $517.  I am super proud of her!  She sold mint, hand painted bookmarks, and crafted bracelets

My Baby is in Kindergarten!

Well, I have officially survived Dylan's kindergarten drop off.  I can't believe my baby is a kindergartner.
First Day of Baby Room

First Day of One's Class

First Day of Threes
First Day of Pre-K

First Day of Kindergarten

Dylan was very excited to finally attend the "big school" with her sister.  So excited that he hoped I would let him walk to and from school with Ellison by himself.  Sorry bud, you have to stay my baby for a little longer!

Final Week of Summer 2016

Our final week of summer was spent at our favorite beach, New Smyrna.  I guess we can say that we wrapped up the summer, just like we started it.  Crab hunts, pool days, sandcastles, and spending time together.  We did add in a few things that we have never done including kayaking, surf lessons, and the Kennedy Space Center.

Jillian joined us for the day and had no idea that when we said we caught crabs, that we actually caught them :)

Kayaking was interesting.  Ellison and I saw 2 dolphins and at least 10 manatees.  However, once the manatee came right up to our boat, Ellison tapped out.

The boys decided to fish from the kayak.  Bad idea.  Dylan saw a dolphin and started freaking out.  After the current took them a decent way from the dock, the lines snapped, and Dylan couldn't recover, Graham tapped out.
After being inspired by our friend Joe Tucker after a quick surf demonstration, the kids were hard pressed to continue surfing.  Of course, first time on the board and Dylan was up and riding the waves.  Ellison took a few more tries, but got it at the end.  I definitely think I have future surfers on my hand.  Which is freaky after the show we watched about Florida shore and bull sharks upon our return.
