Yum Yum
Ellison decided to share her lunch and feed "baby". The spoon kept hitting the baby's ear as Ellison would say "Yum-Yum" and continue to feed her. One blueberry for you, one blueberry for me. Needless to say, I am glad it was E's bath doll because they both needed a bath after lunch time was finished.

Daisy
Four Generations
Holding Ellison as a newborn
Waiting for Ellison's Brith
Our final trip with Grandma Daisy
All of the Greats!Today marked the 1 year anniversary of my Grandmother Daisy's passing. There are so many memories that come to mind as I think of her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, friend and overall person. I do not mourn her passing, but I celebrate her life as she would want me to.
Aunt Ashley, Ellison and I went to her grave site today with coffee and a cinnamon roll in honor of her. She loved sweets and was an amazing baker. In fact, Ellison would only eat sweets all day long... odd, but I would like to think that Grandma Daisy would be smiling.
I also reflected on how blessed we are that Grandma Daisy was around to meet Ellison. I will always be grateful for the extra time God gave to us. When Grandma Daisy was diagnosed with cancer, it was shortly after I had a miscarriage. I left the hospital late one evening, and the sadness overcame me. I wanted desperately for my Grandmother to meet my first child. I was so blessed to have that chance. I give a lot of credit to Daisy, she fought cancer and overcame the odds given to her. I also thank God.
A year ago was a day full of sadness at her passing, but as I looked around that day and saw all of her family there, I knew she was at peace. She loved her family and loved to have us together.
We love you and miss you everyday Grandma Daisy!

Such Sweetness!
This week has been filled with playdates, mother-daughter activities, and lunches with fabulous friends. Ellison has really changed over the past few days and is officially no longer a baby according to her Daddy. She will grab our hand and pull us places, use objects to climb on top of things (including a laptop, shoe boxes, storage containers), grab onto our legs so we can not walk, and leads the dogs places. Her personality has always been quite prominent, however, it is coming out more and more everyday. I keep getting asked if she is an only child. When I say yes, they respond with, "I could tell." She is a bit spoiled (going to have to work on that) and always dressed up (blame Grandma and Great Grandma Daisy - that is where I get it from). People have also commented on her extensive vocab... she talks alot. And the interesting thing is that we are beginning to hear more phrases and the attempts at sentences. This is all leading to fewer fits because she is communicating better.
There is one thing that we need to focus on . . . dinner time. Ellison knows that after dinner is bath time. So lately she has been rushing through dinner in order to get into the bath. She will take the entire contents of her dinner and give to the dogs. All of this in order to get into the bath. Once out of her chair, she will grab her doll and attempt to get into the bath fully clothed. Such Sweetness!
