Tea Time
Almost since Ellison was a baby, she has been enjoying afternoon tea with Grandma. They sit together at Ellison's little table and talk about their day.
Well on Saturday, Ellison was in the middle of an intense make believe session with her dolls and I thought it was the perfect time to introduce the beautiful, porcelain tea set given to her by Mrs. Layden. My thought was that she would set up tea time with her dolls and I could have a few minutes to the clean the house - WRONG!
Instead, Ellison asked for real tea and sandwiches and then asked me to be her guest. She poured me tea, asked if I wanted sugar and cream, and then offered me a sandwich (which she replenished when I was done). And the conversation? "Mommy tell me about your day".
Needless to say, I did not clean the house. However, I did find out the latest gossip and enjoyed the best tea EVER!

Hey Northerners. . .
Look what we are up to in Florida . . .
Jealous?
I really would not blame you if you happen to be rolling your eyes at me, closing out my blog to never return again, or if this post is the final thing to actually drive you insane. After all, according to FB statuses and the news channels, Northerners have been stuck inside for days during a snow storm. Well in Florida, we are refusing to turn on our A/C, which is causing us to head outside and hose down. Why? Well it is in the 80s and sunny. Of course this type of weather screams, "Go outside, turn the hose on, and water plants." Or in mom speak, "Take Ellison outside and wear her out. She will surely go to bed early."
I really don't mean to rub it in. I actually wish it was not in the 80s because I am the only Floridian that enjoys winter. However, I do look forward to spending my weekends at the beach and my weekdays with a hose in the yard. I guess I do kind of love Florida.

Calling My Bluff
Here is the god to honest truth . . . bed time is difficult at our house. I can blame so many things. . .
1. Myself - I feel guilty for not being home all day, so I indulge Ellison with an extra book or 5
2. Late naps - Ellison refuses to nap at school, so she falls asleep in the car and then is impossible to wake up until 5ish, sometimes 6pm
3. Late routine - by the time I make dinner, E takes a bath, and I start reading books it is already 8:30 pm
4. E loves me - She just needs mommy time. She wants to tell me about her day, hear about mine . . . you get the picture.
5. Night Owl - She goes to bed by 10pm, but sleeps until 8 am?
Tonight, I decided to blame all of the toys in her room. After the third time of walking into her room and finding the lights on and Ellison on the floor, I said, "Ellison, if you keep playing with your toys instead of sleeping, Mommy is going to move your toys out of your room." Her response, "Ok, lets move them." She then proceeded to move EVERY SINGLE TOY out of her room.
Wow, talk about that back firing. Not only did Ellison fall asleep at 9:30 pm (again), I now have toys all over the house. On the bright side, Ellison's room is clean.

Perfect Baby Boy
Dylan had his 2 month check up today. His stats:
23.5 inches ~ 50%
12 lbs, 12 oz ~ 25-50%
The doctor said he was "perfect". Well, he is certainly perfect to us.
