Sleepover Disclaimer

I think I may need a Disclaimer for any and all future sleepovers that I supervise:

1. We do not eat Tijuana Flats every night.
(Three sleepovers later and we have had Tijauna Flats every time.)

2. My kids do brush their teeth.
(Apparently last time Ellison's friend slept over I forgot to have them brush their teeth.  This time around they felt the same should hold true.)

3. I do not feed my children "sugar" for breakfast.
(I do make them face pancakes with leftover halloween candy for eyes or chocolate chips.)

This past Friday, Ellison's BFF, Tiana, spent the night.  Those three items and many others are the funny things that the girls pulled from previous sleepovers together. It is so funny what kids remember.

It was a hillarious evening to say the least.  The best quote of the night came from Tiana.  As I checked back in their room after hearing little voices, Tiana said, "Ellison does not know how to fall asleep."  My response, "So true, Tiana, so true".

Bye Bye Crazy Hair

 BEFORE:

 DURING:

 AFTER:

 ELLISON GOT DUSTED :)

On a side note:  For Ellison's first haircut, she squirmed, gave barber a hard time, and absolutely 100% knew what was going on.  For Dylan's first haircut, purely oblivious and just happy to be doing whatever it was he was doing.  Can these two be any more different?  ha ha

Meet Easton

One of my best friends joined the ranks as a Mother two weeks ago. Chantale and Evener welcomed sweet Easton into the world.  He is a doll face!  I have only heard sweet coos from him, which make him even more adorable.  Ellison was a huge fan as well.

Zoom, Zoom Birthday

Ellison's idea turned cake creation.

Ellison personalized the wrapping paper for Dylan. She spent several hours filling in the triangles with glitter glue.

Dylan can now keep up with the boys on the block.
(I'm scared)

Dylan driving into the bushes... oh great!

Happy 2 year old!

We celebrated Dylan's birthday over the weekend with a family dinner - zoom, zoom themed.  Ellison spent the whole day setting up the house.  She laid out every single car Dylan owned on the dining room table.  Dylan would come by, swipe a few, climb on top of the table... Ellison would freak out and reset.  In the end, I hid about 20 cars, the remaining were laid out on the table and the good times began.  In a typical Dylan fashion, he was just happy to be there.  Such a great kid!

Let's Give Thanks

Since November 1st, friends have been busy on FB posting daily "thanks".  It was a lovely, heartwarming surprise to arrive to pick up Ellison a few weeks ago and find the All Saints "We are Thankful" Tree.

Ellison proudly pointed to her leaf where she wrote out that she was thankful for her Mama.  I have to admit I got a little teary.  Afterall, it was quite a difference from last year when she was thankful for her new princess dolls.

A few days later, Ellison's class had a share and tell day.  They were asked to bring in an item from home that they were thankful for.  Most of the kids brought in toys.  Ellison asked to bring her brother, Dylan.  The teachers were kind enough to encourage Ellison and allow her to bring Dylan to show and tell.

Last week was Ellison's Thanksgiving Feast.  My parents, Graham and I enjoyed watching our sweet girl on stage.  We have so much to be thankful for.
Can we say tall?

Ellison decided she did not want us to see her.
Always the comedian.

Ellison and her oldest friend, Bennett.
According to Bennett, they are married. Ellison disagrees.

Grandpa and Grandma enjoyed the show.

Bennett and Ashley Johnston.

Ellison and her best friend, Tiana.

Dylan is 2!

I believe  I have made this statement several times, but I will say it again.  If I didn't believe in a higher power before, I do now.  Our most amazing surprise turned out to be one of our greatest gifts.

Dylan arrived into this world two years ago and has kept our hearts full.  He loves life.  He is always happy. He is a hugger.  He is a great little brother.

Happy Birthday Dylan!  We love you!

The Chair

Its funny to look back and realize how much life has changed.  I purchased this chair when I was pregnant with Ellison.  It was my most thought out purchase of my entire pregnancy.

I purchased the oversized nursery chair to make sure I could accomodate my number one gal... Bella. My thought was that I could rock, nurse, read to Ellison and Bella, my maltese, could sit with us.

Of course, over the years, Bella has found another place to sit.  The chair became a place to rock, feed, and read to Dylan, while Ellison sat next to me.  And now, as Dylan's rooms has evolved into a little boys room, the chair is now in the playroom where I find Ellison and Dylan curled up.

Still my favorite chair.
