Over the past few months, Dylan has had the same nightly book request, "The Little Engine that Could". Of course, its the perfect book since I have forced trains on him since infancy.
Over the past week, our reading ritual has changed. I open the book and Dylan says, "ding dong, ding dong" and chuckles - the first line in the book. In the past, he will ask "whats that" for each toy. Tonight, he pointed to one of three balls and said, "big ball", pointed to another and said, "little ball", and for the third, pointed and said, "blue ball".
Ding-dong, ding-dong - a light has gone off. Little guy is growing up!
